  1. That’s what’s called a ‘power float’. The accelerator is operated like a
brake on a bicycle, the more you pull it in the faster it goes. If you just
let the accelerator go it hits a cut out switch and the engine
automatically stops. Obviously the safety cutout was broken on this
    machine.

  2. It’s a power trowel with a non functioning safety switch(broken or bypassed
on purpose), the water was not an attempt to drown the motor it was to wet
the concrete which reduces friction and allows the blades to slide on the
surface which would make it easier to get control of the handle.the
concrete blanket probably would have worked if more guys were holding it. I
would have just stepped in the way of the handle and let it hit me then
grabbed ahold. it would have left a bruise but it’s not that big of a deal.

  5. I work around tons of concrete finishers and their workers and have to say
I aint met one yet that’s smart.

  6. guy giving the commentary is retarded, he was wetting the blades to break
it free, not “dousing the engine with water” or whatever the hell that
desk-jockey thought was going to happen

  7. After the gunite or shotcrete that was used was the surface of the pool
finished with plaster? Or was the concrete just smoothed out?
